Alexandrov was a Russian Soviet-era boxer who was also known as a world amateur boxing champion. In 1989 he launched a professional boxing career but lost three of his five fights and retired in 1992. Throughout his career he won several awards, including World Amateur Flyweight Champion (1982), European Amateur Bantamweight Champion (1983), and four time champion of the USSR (1982, 1984, 1986,1987). Alexandrov passed away on January 2. 2013 from a heart attack.
